Webinar on E-Waste Management
The Eco Club in association with the Department of Humanities and Applied Sciences and IQAC
organized a "Webinar on E-Waste Management" on 31.05.2021.
The guest speaker was heartily welcomed by Mrs. S. Bhumadevi, an Assistant Professor of
Department of Humanities and Applied Sciences. The session was taken by Ms. Rashmi Joshi.
The session started with the introduction of E-waste by expert speaker, E-Waste or Electronic
Waste may be defined as discarded computers, office electronic equipment, entertainment
device electronics, mobile phones, television sets and refrigerators.
She also discussed used electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, recycling or disposal. E-
waste is one of the most hazardous type of waste reaching to the dumping ground causing
environment and health hazards.
In this webinar she explained that integrated waste management is the best practice to dispose of the
E-waste. She also discussed about the safe disposal of E-Waste in scientific manner and emphasized
on safe disposal of E-waste at authorized recycle centers.
In her session she explained various effects induce by E-waste on our health and environment. The
session was very interactive and participants participated enthusiastically.
The event saw an overwhelming participation of 135 participants.
