The K.C. College of Engineering and Management Studies and Research witnessed a creative and eco-conscious event yesterday with the organization of the Rakhi Making Competition. This event was part of the cultural celebrations leading up to Raksha Bandhan, focusing on the theme of Eco-Friendly Rakhi to promote sustainability and environmental awareness among students.

Event Details:

The competition kicked off at 1 PM in the Microprocessor Lab, attracting both active and passive participants. A total of 7 students actively took part in the competition, crafting Rakhis from eco-friendly materials such as recycled paper, natural fibers, and biodegradable decorations. Additionally, 20 students participated passively, observing and supporting their peers.

Judging Criteria:

The Rakhis were judged based on several criteria including creativity, adherence to the eco-friendly theme, originality, and overall aesthetic appeal. The judging panel, comprising faculty member of the YRC and IQAC head, evaluated the Rakhis with a keen eye for both artistic skill and environmental consciousness.

Winners:

At the conclusion of the event, the following participants were recognized for their exceptional work:

  • First Prize: Sharvari Mahajan for their innovative and biodegradable Rakhi design.

  • Second Prize: Saima Khan.

Third Prize: Shreya D. Sonawane.
