Inauguration of IETE-ISF Chapter & Seminar on "MACHINE LEARNING"

Objective: To start a Student Chapter of IETE-ISF in Department of Electronics and Telecommunication

 With full enthusiasm IETE Student Forum (ISF) has been inaugurated at Department of Electronics and Telecommunication under the support of student on 24th August 2018. The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading standard professional society dedicated to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT, founded in 1953. It is our pleasure to inaugurate the ISF at our college. The IETE Students' Forum of has been set up with around 80 student members belonging to SE to BE year, from EXTC department through the involvement of faculty members.

                     The major focus of IETE is to provide engineering education i.e. Degree and Diploma level certifications to younger generation at affordable cost. The purpose of ISF is to give a platform for the student members to exchange ideas by organizing/participating technical programs and activities. They would get the benefit for technical visits / practical training / project work in R&D laboratories/ industries that increases their spirit of self-reliance and professionalism.

The esteemed personalities present on that occasion:

 Ø Dr J.H Nirmal Sir, HoD of Electronics Department of K J Somaiya College of Engineering Vidyavihar.

Ø Mr Parag Walinjkar who is working in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre as Senior Scientific Officer & Presently he holds the post of Hon. Secretary, IETE Mumbai Centre.

Ø Ms Rakhee Sonawane, Associate Director at Tata Communication.

Ø Chairman of IETE & HoD of Electronics & Telecommunication Department Dr Baban Rindhe Sir.

   After the Inaugural address a Seminar on ‘Machine Learning’ was given by Dr J.H Nirmal through an interesting presentation. Based on his long experience in the field of his teaching career & its knowledge with the subject he made the guest lecture interesting & informative.

Yet another Seminar on “CISCO Networking” was given by Ms Rakhee Sonawane who illuminated the concept of networking from ancient age to modern era which was thought provoking and lucid but very informative. The lecture was a bridging gap between the academic & practical knowledge on networking & its application

The program was ended with a vote of thanks and lot of promises and hope for future.
